Amma’s two schools offer free education to hundreds of children who would otherwise be confined to a life of daily labor. This year SMVA Trust also began initiatives in Uganda, East Africa. Through the Sri Karunamayi Free Hospital, the SMVA Trust has been able to provide vital medical care to a community of about 500,000 people living in the Southern India. Many of these activities take place in South India, where SMVA Trust has established two free schools, a free hospital, over 200 homes and 32 water treatment plants. Including education for children living in poverty, social justice for women and girls, housing programs, water treatment facilities, healthcare, natural disaster relief, hunger eradication and environmental protection.
